How to increase blood level in body after Dengue or any disease?

  • Hemoglobin is very important for healthy living and it is necessary to maintain it in normal levels in your blood.
  • Hemoglobin is mainly composed of iron and is responsible for carrying oxygen from the lungs to the body tissues.
  • Hemoglobin carries carbon dioxide from the body tissues to the lungs and then out of the system.
  • Hemoglobin scarcity in blood can lead to anaemia.

Normal levels of Hemoglobin are
  • 14 to 18 g/dl for adult men.
  • 12 to 16 g/dl for adult women.

Natural sources to increase Hemoglobin level are:

  • Dairy products such as milk, buttermilk, cheese and curd are good sources of iron and help in increasing hemoglobin levels.
  • Dry fruits Dried fruits such as apricots, prunes, dates and raisins are excellent sources of hemoglobin. The high iron content in the dried fruit helps form hemoglobin. They also provide other nutrients and vitamins to the body.
  • Increase Vitamin C intake can increase hemoglobin level. Foods  like papaya, oranges, lemon, strawberries, bell peppers, broccoli, grapefruit, tomatoes and spinach are rich in Vitamin C.
  • Apples helps in maintaining a normal hemoglobin level. Apples are rich in iron along with various other health-friendly components that are required for a healthy hemoglobin count. Eat at least 1 apple (if possible, opt for green apples) with its skin daily.
  • One should have a glass of juice by mixing 1/2 cup each of apple juice and beetroot juice and do add a ginger or lemon juice and drink it twice daily.
