Crack Heels

Crack heels as name tells looks like linear cut wounds and it mostly affects the surface level which comprises of the epidermis and even causes pain.

The skin is normally dry and appears as yellow or dark brown discoloured area of skin.

Causes for Cracked heels are:

  • Dry skin is one of the most common causes that lead to cracked heels.
  • Standing for a long time may also cause crack heels specially on hard surface.
  • Overweight is considered to be also one of the major cause.
  • Wearing slippers most of the time without hydrated.

Home remedies for cracked feet as a 7 day remedies

  • Applying Oil: Before going in bed soak your feet in water and after cleaning it with cotton or soft towel apply Olive oil or sesame oil or coconut oil and after proper oiling wear socks or cover them with a piece of cloth all night.
  • Neem with Turmeric:Crush neem leaves in a bowl with 2 teaspoon of turmeric in it by making paste. Apply it for half hour and wash it. Dry it with a cloth cloth.
  • Lemon: Soak the feet in lemon juice for about 10 mins, as lemon has acidic property it will help in softening and soothing skin. Scrub it with scrubber or loofa and dry it to see the effect.
  • Glycerin mixed with rosewater in ratio of 1:3 after getting your feet dip in salt warm water for 15 mins. Apply the lotion of Glycerin and rosewater on cracks. leave it for whole night
  • Banana: Take the pulp of banana and apply over the cracks for 20 mins. after you wash off you can feel the softness.
  • Vaseline with lemon juice : Take Vaseline and the juice of a lemon in a small bowl. Rub this mixture over  cracked parts of the foot. Rub it so that it gets absorbed in the skin. leave it whole night and in morning you can see and feel the change.
  • Honey: As we all know that honey has anti bacterial properties, we can mix 4 tablespoon of honey in water and apply for 15 mins. After it softens rub it with a cloth and remove flakes.
