Knee pain in Men

  • The knee is particularly vulnerable to long-term damage because it doesn't finish completely forming until men are in their late 20's. The knee during growth undergoes a fair amount of stress before it has fully matured, leaving it open to further damage and knee pain later in life.

Reasons of knee pain in men:

  • Arthritis: knee mostly affected by osteoarthritis, its a degenerative process in which the protective cartilage (Consult medical dictionary) in the joint wears away. It actually causes chronic pain in the knee, particularly during movement.
  • Sometimes overuse and overexertion injuries often lead to this condition. A man might feel a dull, aching pain under or around the front of the kneecap.
  • A strain or sprain of the knee ligaments or muscles usually caused by a blow to the knee or a severe twist of the knee. A man who is having such sprain or a strain will experience pain, swelling, and difficulty walking.
  • Activities like running, jumping, cycling, or team sports can also cause severe pain when you do in excess. This causes significant pain in the front of the knee, especially when walking up or down stairs or hills.

7 Days home remedies

Turmeric and ginger are both anti-inflammatory.

  • Take 2 cups of water and boil it first, then add ½ teaspoon each ground ginger and ground turmeric.
  • Reduce to a simmer and let it be for 10-15 minutes.
  • Strain, add honey to taste, and enjoy twice daily.

Salt

  • You can buy epsom salt and add half bowl (small) to boiled warm water in large bowl.
  • Dip that part of joint in it after stirring.
  • Soak it for 20 mins and you will find pain will be reduced as magnesium sulfate i.e. epsom salt is very usefull for pain.

Olive Oil

  • Rub a bit of olive oil onto your sore joints twice a day, massaging in to each one gently.
  • You can also take 2-3 tablespoons daily.

Dates

  • Its one of the oldest method which we don't follow now in busy schedule like soak 7-8 dates in a cup of water overnight.
  • Eat these dates in morning on an empty stomach with water. It makes knee muscles strong and gives knee pain relief quickly.

Heat and Cold

  • Therapy we can use a heating pad to keep the joint from stiffening up while Wrapping cold pack or towel with ice in it to reduce pain and swelling.
